Call any hour. We stop the damage, dry and clean the property, and handle the rebuild, with a project manager who helps with your insurance claim.
Tell us what happened and we'll call you back.
Burst pipes, roof leaks, appliance failures, and flooding all do the same thing: water moves into places you can't see. The faster it's removed and the structure is dried, the less has to be torn out and replaced.
If it's safe, shut off the water at the main and turn off power to the affected area. Move valuables out of the wet area and photograph the damage before anything is moved. Don't use a household vacuum on standing water.
Fire damage is more than what burned. Smoke and soot travel through the whole structure, and the water used to put the fire out soaks everything it touches. We secure the property first, then clean, deodorize, and repair in an order that keeps anything from being missed.
Wait for the fire department to clear the property. Don't wipe soot off surfaces (it smears and sets), don't run the HVAC system, and don't eat food or use medicine that was exposed to smoke. Photograph what you can.
Mold needs moisture, so wherever you find it, water has been there. Removing visible growth without fixing the moisture source only buys time. We find the source, contain the affected area, and remove the mold so it doesn't spread through the rest of the property.

Don't scrub a large patch, spray it with bleach, or run fans over it. That can spread spores. If growth is near a vent, turn the AC off and call us.
Hurricanes and severe storms rarely cause just one kind of damage. Wind opens the roof, rain gets in, and water follows. We've worked Florida storm recoveries for two decades and handle the whole sequence: stop further damage, dry the structure, and rebuild.

Take dated photos and video of all damage before anything is moved or thrown out. Most policies expect you to prevent further damage, and emergency tarping and board-up are usually part of that. We document that work for your claim.
The same five steps on every job, whether it's a single room or a whole building.
Call the 24/7 line. We take the details, give you immediate safety steps, and get a crew moving.
A technician inspects the property, finds the source of the damage, and documents it with photos and readings.
We stop it from getting worse: water extraction, board-up, tarping, containment, and protecting your belongings.
Drying, cleaning, deodorizing, and decontaminating. We save what can be saved.
Our construction team repairs and rebuilds, so the company that stabilized your property is the one that finishes it.
A loss is stressful enough without a claim to manage on top of it. Every Carter job has a dedicated project manager, and part of that person's job is helping you and your adjuster get the claim moving.
What your policy covers is between you and your carrier. Our job is to make sure the claim has what it needs.
Send us the claim details and our team will contact the policyholder and coordinate with you from there.
Assign a claimMost property owners end up coordinating a restoration company, a contractor, a roofer, and a plumber. With Carter it's one company and one point of contact.
Our hotline is answered 24/7. We dispatch as soon as we have your details. Arrival time depends on where our crews are and how severe the loss is, and the person you speak with will give you an honest window.
Keep everyone safe first. If it's safe to do so, shut off the water at the main and turn off power to affected areas. Move valuables out of the wet or smoky area and photograph the damage before anything is moved. Photos help your insurance claim.
It depends on your policy and the cause of the loss. Sudden and accidental damage, like a burst pipe, a fire, or storm damage, is commonly covered. We document the loss thoroughly and work directly with your adjuster, but we can't tell you what your policy will pay.
Often several days, depending on the materials and how far the water traveled. We follow IICRC S500 guidelines and monitor moisture readings until the structure is actually dry, not just dry to the touch.
Yes. Mold can start when materials stay wet, which is why fast water removal and thorough drying matter. If growth has already started, we contain and remove it and fix the moisture source.
